Where I was…World Series Game 5, 2010

All of a sudden, the
game is in the top of the seventh of the clinching game 5.

I  remember I was in the school library during
my free period in the morning.  Pacing
from my working desk to the printing room, trying to get a printing job
correct.  The entire period was so
intense that I carried my laptop around.

And I saw on the game tracker: Ross single, Uribe single, Huff Sac.
(thinking: YEAH! At the same time: wtf…?)
Burrell K (hope crushed, really want to burn a picture of him).

Then Renteria: take
ball one, ball two …then pause, because the internet lags and the game tracker
just does that.   I knew something good
would happen if they didn’t intentionally walk him, because then Rowand would
bat and it’s fair to say I didn’t want his AB to determine the score.

THEN, just as I left
the printing room and crossing the library to my desk, a blue spot shinned on
the top of the strike zone.  Homerun.

For the final out, I
found my sister who had the same free, in a group study room.  She turned on the game on her laptop and we
watched the crappy image and the lame Fox commentators, oh and Wilson getting
the final out of what was a magical season.
People in the study room turned to look, but they wouldn’t understand.

So much for a
oversea student/Giants fan…I won’t miss the next one for sure.  I swear by my orange blood.
