Bad Broadcasting

We are so spoiled in the bay area to have such great broadcasters to call Giants game.

But it Taiwan we only get to watch Yankee and Dodger games.  And what’s worse, both languages are the retards doing their games.

Today, as I watch the second game of the foger- Giants series in LA, on Taiwan ESPN, I think it’s my obligation to highlight my suffering in life as of right now

So here is my rant about bad broadcasting: (opinions mine and no other)

Hi, my name is Vin Scully, I’ve been doing dodger games since 1950, yet all I can tell you is the player’s hometown, the teams they played with, their batting average in every possible situation.  I don’t know how to be funny and I honestly didn’t know much about baseball.  I should probably retire but they won’t let me because they can’t find a replacement, or they’re too lazy to.  Jon Miller is much better, really.

Hi, our names are something you can’t pronounce, and we only make jokes that are funny for us which we laugh at constantly.  We know a little about baseball and we made the rest up.  We dis the Giants for batting Freddy Sanchez second and bunting with no outs and a man on second in a close game.  We (Taiwanese broadcasters and fans) love the Yankee’s because we have no idea that they are over paying for their players and we tell the world we are winners just because we are bandwagon fans that root for a winning team.

These guys are one of the reasons I can’t wait to return to San Jose at any time.

Giants Boradcasters

Giants Broadcasters.jpgFour guys in San Francisco make up the irreplacable components of Bay Area baseball. I can simply say its: the Hall of Fame Jon Miller, K&K, and the the kid in Dave Flemming

The most recent Ford C. Frick Award winner and member of the Hall of Fame class of 2010 is better known as the play-by-play of ESPN Sunday Night Baseball, is more popularly known as the “Voice of the Giants.” Jon Miller had his broadcasting aspirations from watching the broadcasters in Candlestick Park. More specifically, he wanted to eat GARLIC fries while watching baseball games.  He is now working his 13th year as the Giants broadcasters for KNBR.  Personally, Vince Skully is a boreing solo broadcaster. Give the number 1 to Jon.

Mike Krukow & Duane Kuiper are taking part of every local TV broadcast of the Giants.  The make aruguably the best broadcasting combination of all time. To Giants fans, they are the best.  Emotion, insight, passion, humor, what else could you think of to make the most entertaining boot to depict the beautiful game? And the most popular action that they could perform: eliminating, where Mike will scibble on his TV and “eliminate” people when they are covered by the white. Both these guys have played for the Giants somewhere in the 80’s.

Dave Flemming is the baby of the group. He does have 6 years of broadcasting done for professional teams, but he is the youngest active broadcaster for teams today.  He grew up listening to Jon Miller when he did Oriel games.  Becuase he has the potential to be a francise broadcaster, every off season there are rumors that teams are inviting him over.

No way. These four have a connection, and that makes watching them (or listening) just as enjoyable as the game itself.  And unlike other teams, these guys “genuinly like being around each other,” and it really makes a difference.  You could watch the video on the Giants site for more, or look them up under “Roster” and “Broadcasters”.

I’m sure they are Orange and Black
